  • Turmeric trading range for the day is 7052-7380.
  • Turmeric prices ended with gains with firm spot demand in domestic markets.
  • Arrivals from the new turmeric crop have started in the markets of Nizamabad in Telangana and Erode in Tamil Nadu.
  • About 5,770 bags of the new turmeric crop hit the Nizamabad market, with total arrivals at around 6,700 bags.
  • In Nizamabad, a major spot market in AP, the price ended at 7319.25 Rupees dropped -24.1 Rupees.

  • Rmseed trading range for the day is 3604-3756.
  • Mustard seed prices gains on reports of good physical demand and improvement in exports of meal during the first quarter of 2017/18.
  • Mustard arrivals began in mid February, while supply started in March in full swing. Arrivals in mandies started shrinking in June due to beginning of lean season.
  • NCDEX accredited warehouses mustard seed stocks dropped by 30 tonnes to 39237 tonnes.
  • In Alwar spot market in Rajasthan the prices gained 12.85 Rupees to end at 3793.25 Rupees per 100 kg.

  • Turmeric trading range for the day is 6630-6898.
  • Turmeric prices dropped amid increasing in crop supplies in all the major producing centres amid weak domestic and export buying.
  • The supplies are improving and there is weak demand for the new season crop.
  • India's Apr-Sept turmeric export stood at 59,000 ton up 47% on year, according to Spices Board data.
  • In Nizamabad, a major spot market in AP, the price ended at 6700 Rupees dropped -158.35 Rupees.

  • Soyabean trading range for the day is 3020-3084.
  • Soyabean prices dropped tracking weakness in spot demand on increasing arrivals in local mandis.
  • All India soybean arrivals were stood at 125,000-130,000 bags (90 kilogram per bag) as compared to 120,00-125,000 bags.
  • NCDEX accredited warehouses soyabean stocks dropped by 6821 tonnes to 162282 tonnes.
  • At the Indore spot market in top producer MP, soybean gained 14 Rupees to 3121 Rupees per 100 kgs.

Turmeric trading range for the day is 6486-6738.
Turmeric prices ended with losses as the supplies are adequate in the physical market. At Erode market estimated market supply was at 3300 quintals, up by 100 quintals as compared to previous day. NCDEX accredited warehouses turmeric stocks dropped by 35 tonnes to 10 tonnes. In Nizamabad, a major spot market in AP, the price ended at 6660 Rupees dropped -100 Rupees.

CPO trading range for the day is 523.5-543.3.
Crude palm oil prices ended with gains on short covering after prices dropped amid weak spot market on sluggish demand. Malaysia palm oil exports during Feb 1-28 fell by 14.2% compared to a month earlier on subdued demand. World palm oil output is forecast to climb 11% to 65 million tonnes this year from 58.3 mln tonnes a year ago. Crude palm oil prices in spot market gained by 0.10 rupees and settled at 548.90 rupees.

Ref.Soya oil trading range for the day is 642-660.
Ref soyoil ended with losses amid subdued demand from oil crushers and higher supply in global market. However, market participants expected demand in spot market to rise in coming days on account of holi festivals.   India's agriculture department in second advance estimates pegged 2016-17 soybean crops at 14.125 mln tns as compared to 8.570 mln tns. At the Indore spot market in Madhya Pradesh, soyoil was steady at 664.7 Rupees per 10 kgs.

Soyabean trading range for the day is 2851-2923.
Soyabean ended with losses due to weak demand against ample supplies in the domestic markets. Further, lower soyabean prices in international markets with expectations of silo-bursting Brazilian supplies too added pressure. NCDEX accredited warehouses soyabean stocks dropped by 1971 tonnes to 216192 tonnes. At the Indore spot market in top producer MP, soybean gained  8 Rupees to 2988 Rupees per 100 kgs.

Menthaoil trading range for the day is 1014.8-1042.4. Mentha oil spot at Sambhal closed at 1154.50 per 1kg. Spot prices was down by Rs.-7.00/-. 
Mentha oil ended with losses tracking muted demand from consuming industries at the spot market.  Further, higher supplies from major producing belts of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also fuelled the downtrend.   At Chandausi market arrivals were reported at 25 Drums(1-drum-180kg), up by 10 Drums(1-drum-180kg) from previous trading day.

  • Refined soy oil futures closed lower on Tuesday tracking international prices.
  • Moreover, cut in import tariff also pressurize the futures price. Domestic edible oil in 2016/17 is forecast to produce 72.8 lt, up 25.5% compared to last year’s production of 58 lt. 
  • The government has cut the base import price of soyoil by $33 per tonnes for first half of March, steepest cut among other edible oils. The base import price of crude soyoil is now at $814.

  • Jeera March future closed higher on Tuesday and continues its sideways movement since last week due to higher arrivals and good demand. 
  • There are expectations of increase in export demand at slightly lower levels. 
  • Market participants continue to short sell and rolling over their positions to April contracts. 
  • The arrivals of jeera in Gujarat are improving so as the demand. As per Agmarknet data, during Feb 27- Mar 4 about 9,901 tonnes of jeera arrived compared to 6,273 tonnes in the previous week.

  • Cotton prices on MCX and NCDEX Kapas closed lower on Tuesday on profit booking and weak international prices.
  • CAI estimated output at 341 lakh bales and revised its consumption higher at 295 lakh bales compared to 290 last year. 
  • Meanwhile, CCI may have purchased close to 1 lakh bales from the physical market which might put pressure on prices later in season.

CPO Futures fell on Tuesday tracking international prices and cut in the tariff charges.
Government has cut base import prices (tariff charges) for palm products in India for the second successive fortnight making prices cheaper to import.

For 1 st half of Mar, the prices of CPO and RBD palm oil cut by $30 and $11 a tonnes respectively.

The strengthening of rupee along with prediction of a bumper output of palm oil in Malaysia and Indonesia, may depress prices .

Soybean futures fall further on Tuesday tracking weak physical demand amid adequate supplies.
The oil millers are active at lower prices. Soybean in spot market gets some boost from increase in meal exports. As per SEA monthly release, India exported 207,977 tonnes soymeal in February, up from 29,950 tonnes in the year-ago period. The exports were higher this year as prices of Indian soymeal are more competitive.

Menthaoil trading range for the day is 1032-1055.

Mentha oil spot at Sambhal closed at 1168.50 per 1kg. 

Spot prices was up by Rs.9.70/-.

Mentha oil prices dropped triggered by fall in demand from consuming industries in the spot market. 
Further, ample stocks position on increased supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, too influenced mentha oil prices. 

At Sambhal market market supply was at 70 Drums(1-drum=180kg), lower by 10 Drums(1-drum=180kg) as compared to previous day.

Cotton trading range for the day is 20593-20953. Cotton prices dropped as buyers were not willing to buy at high prices. As on now about 167 lakh bales of cotton have arrived in the domestic market.  India's cotton arrivals falls 5% to 12.83 million bales on late commencement of supplies though output for the 2016-17 is expected to higher. Cotton prices in spot market dropped by 40.00 rupees and settled at 20600.00 rupees.

Cardamom trading range for the day is 1435.5-1496.5. Cardamom prices ended with losses due to weakness in spot demand amid profit booking after prics gained beacude of shrinking supply.  Good supplies on spot markets as against fears of slowdown in supplies also weighed on prices.  Total arrivals at the auctions stood at 462 ton up 66 ton over the previous week. Cardamom prices in spot market gained by 15.00 rupees and settled at 1473.80 rupees.

Maize trading range for the day is 1390-1434. Maize prices ended with gains tracking firmness in spot demand and overseas prices.   USDA reported weekly corn export inspections of 1.256 million tonnes, up from 1.124 million tonnes a week ago. Corn ending stocks for the 2016-17 crop were lowered 35 million bushels to 2.32 billion bushels. In Nizamabad maize spot prices gained 0.35 Rupees to 1481 Rupees per 100kgs.

Jeera trading range for the day is 16655-17155. Jeera gained on short covering after pressure seen due to commencement of arrivals of new crop in the producing markets of Gujarat.  Quality of new crop jeera is good but moisture is slightly higher due to cold weather conditions in producing areas.  Jeera output in Gujarat is expected to be higher compared to last year due to favourable weather conditions.  In Unjha, a key spot market in Gujarat, jeera edged down by -108.4 Rupees to end at 17696.15 Rupees per 100 kg.
