Jeera prices rose by 1.98 per cent on Monday on account of strong domestic demand coupled with strong international buying both in spot and future market. At the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX), Jeera future for April 2016 contract were trading at Rs. 16,185 per quintal, up by 1.98 per cent, after opening at Rs. 16,000 against the previous closing price of Rs. 15,870. It touched the intra-day high of Rs. 16,185 till the trading. Sentiment further strengthened due to the timely arrival of Agri-commodity in Unjha market. Export demand will likely to rise in the month of April which will further boost the price. Expected export of Jeera for this year is around 1 lakh tonnes, which is in line with the average of last two years’ exports
