Jeera trading range for the day is 17540-18210. Jeera prices dropped on account of subdued demand from local parties at the spot market. Gujarat has reported a fall in area under the crop by 6 percent to 278,700 hectares in 2016-17, from 295,200 hectares in 2015-16. Some, however, believe that jeera production may not be more than 225,000 tonne in the next season. In Unjha, a key spot market in Gujarat, jeera edged up by 53.85 Rupees to end at 18500 Rupees per 100 kg.
