Cotton prices dropped on profit booking after prices gained on lower output estimates for 2015-16.
The Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) sold 8,500 bales of cotton on Monday out of 11,2000 bales put under e-auction.
The export of cotton is expected to drop by over 10% to 6 million bales in current year ending September.
