Ref soyoil prices ended with gains amid fresh demand from the traders and stockists on anticipation of improved International market for edible oil.
India's soyoil imports surged four fold high to 490,718 tons in December compared to 97,027 tons for the same period a year ago.
The overall export of oilmeals during April-Dec 2015 slumped 48.26% to 963,442 tons.

Cardamom prices ended with losses amid subdued demand for the commodity at the spot market.
Exporters are said to be holding good orders in hand, but they were not getting exportable variety capsules in required volumes.
Exporters have bought at around 100 tonnes last week and that has, in fact, arrested the prices from falling.


Meanwhile, upcountry buyers were slow as they said the markets in north Indian states are claimed to be holding good stocks of earlier purchases.

Chana trading range for the day is 3977-4161.
Chana prices ended with gains on short covering after prices dropped on subdued demand from retailers against ample stocks position.
There is also anticipation of higher supplies from new season crop due to favorable winter and expectations of increased supplies from imported chana.
This year area under chana is lower than the average and normal area shown in the country.

Ref soyoil gains due to fresh demand from the traders and stockists at current levels on anticipation of improved International market for edible oil.
As per latest SEA data, edible oils import rose to 14.07 lt in December last year from 11.23 lt in December 2014.
The Ministry has proposed increase in import duty on crude edible oils to 17.5 per cent and on refined edible oils to 25 per cent from the existing level.

Crude palm oil prices ended with gains on the back of increasing demand in the spot market.
Expectation of lower production this year following the threat of El Nino is supporting the prices.
The Malaysian government has forecast production to increase to 20.1 million tonnes in 2016 from 19.96 million tonnes in the previous year.

USDA reported weekly export sales of old-crop U.S. corn at 817,000 tonnes, at the low end of trade estimates for 800,000 to 1 million tonnes.

India's top mustard producing Rajasthan state estimates the oilseed's output to rise 21.4 % to 3.5 mt in the planting season that began Oct. 1.
According to official estimates, mustard sowing has doubled in Uttar Pradesh from the last season; there is a slight increase in Punjab and Haryana

Menthaoil trading range for the day is 864.4-898.
Mentha oil spot at Sambhal closed at 1015.50 per 1kg. Spot prices is up by Rs.0.30/-.
Mentha oil prices ended with losses driven by subdued demand from consuming industries at the domestic spot market.
Further, rising arrivals from major producing belts of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also weighed on mentha oil prices.
